Yes. it has. and if it had not been for the foreign element we would not have organized labor in this country. Samu6l Gompers. the great labor leader. came here as a foreigner. The present Secretary of Labor. the Hon. William B. Wilson. was born abroad. The majority of the members of the executive committee of the American Federation of Labor. the men who have aided and assisted Mr. Gompers in the organization and perfection of that great body. are of foreign birth. If credit were given to those who deserve it. we would find that immigrants have been instrumental in the organization and development of practically all of the great labor organizations of the present day.
