It is not a question of how many are hurt. but whether any of those who in good faith cast tiheir lot with us are made to suffer needlessly. The family is separated only temporarilylong enough for ihe father to come to this country to earn the money with which to bring over the wife and their boys and girls. The Senate of the United States ought not to stand for a provision that would deny the right. when the father and mother and daughters are here. to bring over the boys of 16. 17. 1S. and 29. even though they might not meet the literacy test. when the father and mother have been admitted before that test went into effect. Witat a hardship to that fanily. and what a cruel wrong to those young boys. who will later. in all probability. come to this country and become a part of our political and social life. but who ini the meantitue have been deprived of the parents guidance and of all the precious home ties. It can not nmake for good citizenship or be an advantage to this country.
