He had more. He had the investigation of the Bureau of Corporations. a voluminous report. printed in two volumes. going into details in respect to all these questions. He also had reports from the Immigration Commission in reference to the questions of labor involved. as well as reports from the Bureau of Labor. In addition to all this. when this bill reached his hands he had the thorough and complete report of the committee appointed by this Iouse to investigate the socalled Steel Trust. going largely into the details of this question. an Investigation he was willing to accept when he ordered his Attorney General to file proceedings against the United States Steel Corporation. Yet he wishes to repudiate the legislation of this Congress with respect to the metal schedule. because. as he says. there had been no investigation.
