Mr. President. I am assuming that under the condiion which exists there these unfortunate refugees will only ask to be sent to such places as they may reasonably hope to find employment. If I believed that this generosity of the Government would be seriously abused I would readily accept the suggestion of the Senator from North Dakota. but some of those people will go into Idaho. some to Utah. and some probably will go to other parts of Texas. I feel confident that in their present distressful condition they will not attempt to defraud the Government. It is not a proposition to do more than to send them where they can again become useful to themselves.
