I may take the Committee on Expenditures in the Treasury Department. a chairmanship that probably might be deemed unimportant from the standpoint of the amount of business that is assigned or referred to it by the Senate. Yet that Senator is a member of the Committees on Commerce. on Foreign Relations. on Immigration. and other like important committees. and he must be equipped with an efficient clerical force to enable him to take up the assigned work that comes from those committees. I could go through the list of committees. The Senator. upon my suggestion. may take up that question.
