Now. Mr. Speaker. the provision as it now stands does not affect aliens alone. but all persons. I contend that as this bill relates to aliens. restricting immigration. thereby disqualifying certain persons from landing and residing in our midst. we ought to confine the provision to aliens and not in this manner incorporate in an immigration bill a penal statute under which all violators. whether aliens or citizens. may come. I am most strenuously opposed to the wfiiteslave trade. whether that is practiced by aliens or citizens. at all times and under all circumstances. Prostitution Is an evil.
