If this foreign population continues to be admitted as at liresent. we shall cease to have a hoinogeneous class. created and mailtained by assimilation through Voluntary union in lawful vedlock. based upon and sustained by absolute equality. Such will be tile inevitable result if this foreign element coltinues to pour in upon us fromn all quarters of tile globe. Therefore this influx of undesirable immigrants isa hindrance to our progress and a menace to our peace anld happiness. At the present ratio of increase the reports of the next fiscal year will show that a million and a half of foreigners have lauded on our shores during that period. and in twenty yeas fron. now tile number will have increased to 10.000.000 annually. It is not unreasonable to predict that holding the balance of power in tle nation. fuld controlling absolutely soine seetions of it. they will demand and secure such laws as they may desire.
