Chairman. the verdict of history will be that this Congress has produced some very wise legislation. such as will relound to the credit of those who have been instrumental in placing these laws on the statute books of the nation. But there are still some other qdiestions that ought to have attention before final adjournment. One of these is the proper restriction of foreign immigration. and another is a law that shall make eight hours a days labor in the United States. These are both live subjects for legislation by the American Congress. having to do with that great body of men who are the bone and sinew of this great country of ours. I shall expect to speak to you on both these subjects later on In this session.
