Session #59 · 1905–07

Speech #590091246

I have sent for it. However. I will say to the Senator from Maine that the manifests furnished by the steamship companies show the rejections that have been made at the port of embarkation. and it is from these. I suppose. that the figures have been deduced. In a moment I will have brought to me the CommissionerGenerals report for 1905. in which will be found a report from one of the special department inspectors sent abroad by the Bureau of Immigration. who has examined this whole question and tells how the work is done at the different ports of embarkation.
