One witness may be primed. the applicant may be primed as to what he will say when he Is produced before the court. But you can readily see that If there are three personsthat is. the applicant and two witnesseswhen they appear in court and are subjected to the examination by the court as to the right of the alien to obtain the paper. the danger of swearing falsely is made much less. because it is not probable that three persons. the alien himself and his two witnesses. could so swear falsely that the judge before whom the application Is made would not detect it. It Is simply as a matter of precaution that I have put that in. so that the examining judge can see. from the mouths of three personsthat Is. the applicant and the two witnesseswhether or not the applicant himself is entitled to the certificate of naturalization. Then It goes on practically the same as the old section. I will say that here on page 4. line 8. there Is a typographical error.
