Speech #590030773

We have not very many. but we want to shut our doors before we get them. We do not want to have this trouble you and the rest of the country realize now. We do not want this strike element or pauper element or anarchIstic element. We do not want men to come from foreign countries to do the labor which our people at home can do. We do not want our people reduced to the level of the pauper labor of Europe. We do not want to deprive our people of an opportunity of earning American wages and living according to American standards. [Appaluse.]
