The conference report is as follows: The committee of conference on the disagreeing votes of the two Houses on the amendment of the House to the bill "to establish the department of commerce and labor." having met. after full and free conference. have agreed to recommend and do recommend to their respective Houses as follows: That the Senate recede from its disagreement to the amendment of the House. and agree to the same with amendments as follows: Page 2. line 8 of the amendment. strike out all after the word "Congress" to the end of section 2 and insertin lieu thereof the following: "and the Auditor for the State and other Departments shall receive and examine all accounts of salaries and incidental expenses of the office of the secretary of commerce and labor. and of all bureaus and offices under his direction. all accounts relating to the LightHouse Board. SteamboatInspection Service. Immigration. Navigation. Alaskan furseal fisheries. the National Bureau of Standards.
