The assertion has been made that other nations had this provision and it worked well. That is not quite correct. I know of no other nation that absolutely accepts the examination made in other countries. except where they offer a premium for immigration. where they desire to have certain people come to their shores. and then they even pay or partly pay for their passage. That has been done in South America and Australia and other places. But there the alien is so critically examined that there can be no question at all except so far as health is concerned. and this is also closely looked into.
