Session #57 · 1901–03

Speech #570064672

I am perfectly willing for all my friends from the large cities to clear their consciences and put themselves on record. If there is any other gentleman from a large city who desires to do so I will give him the opportunity. This is a fight for home and country. for the peace. contentment. and prosperity of our own people. for the protection of the American wageearner and the maintenance of our civilization. I hope the amendment will be adopted. and I feel sure that it will meet with the approval of all classes of our citizens. whether native or foreign born. who love their country and who desire peace and prosperity at home.
