Certainly he would come within the meaniig of the word "acquire" atter he had become naturalized and obtained a patent. but if there is an intervening right between the date of his location as an alien and the date of his naturalization as a citizen of the United States. that is another question. and that is the question which we desire to bring into the court in Alaska. Mr. President. there is a long line of decisions. an almost unbroken chain of decisions. oi this question. On Friday. I think it was. when the Senator from Utah . addressed the Senate on this question. he referred to some departmental decisions with respect to mining claims. when hewas challenged by the Senator from Colorado to cite a single instance where the Secretary of the Interior had rendered a decision with respect to a mining claim.
