Capital can not starve for want of employment. but laborers starve for want of work. Everyone knows that there are more workmen in the country than there is work. That is what keeps wages down. Reduce the number of laborers to the quantity of work in the country and there will be plenty of work for all at good wages. The law of supply and demand regulates the price of labor as it regulates theprice of everything. There are too many laborers here. and their number is daily increasing by immigration. I know of only one way to relieve the situation. and that is to restrict immigration.
