I desire to call up now the conference report on the immigration bill. I do not wish. as the Senator from Alabama knows. to do anything to interfere with the consideration of the Nicaragua Canal bill. but this measure being in its last stage. I am very anxious to dispose of it at the earliest possible moment. Of course it does not displace the unfinished business. as -it is a conference report. and I am in hopes that we may be able to get action upon it very soon and get it out of the way not only of -the Nicaragua Canal bill. but -of all the business of the Senate.
