This because he knows that there is no country on the face of the globe to which he could not go. if he himself were qualified. with his wife and his children. One great argument against slavery was that it caused the separation of families. That great issue was decided in favor of humanity and liberty. and shall we now. at this late day. pass a law which. in its inhuman and cruel effects. will be open to the same objections as the institution of slavery?
