Session #54 · 1895–97

Speech #540102406

He mentioned my name at the close of his remarks. I did not hear distinctly what he had to say. but I did hear him refer to the resolution offered by the Senator from Nebraska . When that resolution comes before the Senate it will be my pleasure and my duty to define my position in connection -with the proposed investigation. But I now hope that as the immigration bill is to be voted upon at 4 oclock tomorrow afternoon. and as I know there are Senators who wish to debatd the pending amendments. the discussion upon that measure may proceed. I ask for the regular order.
