Speech #530161084

Craddock. one of the judges at the third precinct. stated that he was a Democrat. I am speaking generally. There may have been one or more exceptions. This was possibly the result of a resignation or a removal. But almost without exception the naturalization. registration. and election machinery was in the hands of the friends of Mr. Punston. At any rate the judge who received the ballots at the third. precinct. and to whom the challenges were made. was a Republican. and in mostinstances he refused to recognize the challenge. saying to the challenger. "I know that man. he is all right." and then put the ballot in the box.
