Speech #530132412

Speaker. the prayer vigil today is a solemn reminder that not all people of the world. especially in the Soviet Union. are free to worship as we are in the United States. The brave efforts of those people such as Nadezhda and the Soviet Jews should be an inspiration to all Americans and we must keep them in our thoughts and prayers. We must also support projects such as the Independents "Lifeline Letters" which provides support to the persecuted Soviet people throughout the year. It is through this type of work that Soviets such as Nadezhda Fradkova someday will realize their dreams of being allowed to emigrate to a place where freedom of worship is a sacred liberty.
