Mr. Chairman. I just want to make sure as we conclude the debate on this particular amendment that we understand that the Committee on Agriculture is attempting to restore the status quo in which the Department of Labor does determine the length under a certified application. determines the length of that particular job. but it is the Immigration and Naturalization Service which has historically determined the total length of stay of the worker involved. An H2 worker may well be transferred from the first approved job to another certified job in the immediate area. It is efficiency in the use of labor.
