Mr. President. I do not propose to admit the assumption that I think we are at the end of the law with regard to this matter of immigration. I was inquiring of the Senator if he could suggest some further restriction. because I do not yield to him in my desire to check undesirable immigration into this country. I do not believe it practicable to shut out all the people of every country coming to this country. I should be very glad to have the Senator point out some way in which we may more effectually sift our immigration so as to get only the desirable immigrants and keep the undesirable away from our country.
