Mr. Speaker. after five days of debate I rise to make the closing speech on the bill under consideration. I shall be brief. because sufficient time has already been consumed in debate. and also because there is not much to answer. as the speeches made by the opposition have been mainly against Chinese emigration and Chinese habits. and these questions are not raised by the bill which I had the honor to introduce. I only seek to do that which will benefit our people and our country. and at the same time be fair and just to others. In 1892 1 voted for the Geary act.
