Session #52 · 1891–93

Speech #520151376

Mr. Speaker. this bill comes in here at the fag end of the session. and I want to put myself on record now as opposed to any further restrictions on immigration. All this country is. it has become through immigration. There would not be many of us here today were it not for immigration. There is no reason why this bill should become a law. Some men get up here and say it ought to pass because it is such a little one. Other men getup and say that while it does not meet their views. yet it does not do much harm. and that it ought to be allowed to pass.
