They are already crowding our laborers who are struggling for support in this country. when they are brought here in large numbers and forced into our industries. It is a matter which the principles of ordinary selfpreservation require that additional attention should be given to. I am glad that the Committee on Immigration is investigating these subjects thoroughly. and I believe that we shall work out a system which will protect our people from this invasion. But so far as the Chinese are concerned there is no way of assorting them. The coolies are all of the same elas. and if they are allowed to come here at all they will produce incalculable harm to our people and to our country.
