Mr. Speaker. I move to amend Rule X. section 1. by inserting. after the words "on Labor." etc.. the words "on Immigration. to consist of nine members." Mr. Speaker. one question in Which the people feel a great concern is this question of immigration. and I submit it to the judgment of this House whether there oughtnot to be a standing committee having jurisdiction of this subject. Heretofore investigations in reference to this matter have been made. but very little has followed from them. I think that everything relating to this question of immigrationits control and restrictions. if you pleaseshould be submitted to the care of a committee formed for this particular purpose.
