The bill under con ideration does not provide for any increase of it. You know that now th. head tax is 50 cents. Receiving nearly 500.000 immigrants ye xly. that creates a sufficient fund to administer the system of inspection which we now have. In someyears it leaves a surplus over. lnothers there is a deficiency. It is not uniform. but I maintain that it is insufficient. if we are to have efficient inspection. and therefore it ought to be increased.
