The purpose of this bill. which has already passed the Senate. is simply to relieve from a cloud the title to certain real estate which was formerly held by Mr. Lisner. a gentleman long established as a merchant in this District. Some years ago. before he was naturalized (being a gentleman of foreign birth). he acquired some real estate in this District which he has since conveyed. The object of this measure is to remove a cloud from the title of those persons to whom he made the conveyance. I will add that according to information given me by a member of the Judiciary Committee of this House that committee has unanimously reported a bill similar in substance to this.
