No more faith can be put in the Republican than in the Democrat. they are both AngloSaxons. and do nothing for us unless it is to their advantage to do so. and will throw its overboard. as in Uncle Ben. in Johnsons story. as soon as they find us too heavy. We must show our independence. and the sooner we do this the better. Let some of its leave. go to Africa if necessary. show that we can get along without the AngloSaxon. and by this spirit of independence make them learn and appreciate our value. Independence and emigration are. in my opinion. the only solutins to this great question. I have other extracts from prominent colored ministers. among them one from the Rev.
