Session #50 · 1887–89

Speech #500084343

Those palaces were palaces of ostentation and ease. the palace that they raised on the banks of the Passaic was a palace of industry. and that is only one of the larger cells which have honeycombed Paterson and made it a busy Itive of happy human industry. Now. Mr. Chairman. my witness is William Barbour. the head o this vast establishment. the son of one of those brothers who immigrated from Ireland. William Barbour was born in America. and is a man of ardent patriotism. of the highest character. and of the greatest responsibility. Through me he testifies here today. and takes the I responsibility of his words.
