Session #50 · 1887–89

Speech #500010525

Moynihan. his attention had been called to the fact that he might have taken them out somewhere else when he attempted or intended to go to Europe. In his testimony he says that he went to New York in the latter part of February or the first part of March. If he went to New York the latter part of February. it was on the 28th day of February. and I challenge anybody to say that he would have forgotten that fact at the time when he was questioned as to his naturalization. and from then on up until the time when he came upon the witness stand. and he never applied for the passport. which was his chief object in becoming naturalized. Gentlemen say that lie was advised to go and take out papers in the other county. Why?
