I know farmers who have gone to Castle Garden expecting to get cheap farm laborers. they have paid their fare from New York into the central part of the State and have put them upon their farms. and in less than thirty days they have repudiated their contracts and demanded the going wages of the farmers about them. These they have always received and always will receive. it can not be prevented.
