I find here from this report that the monopolists of Pennsylvania havinggot the tariff fixed to suit them so as to exclude foreign products from the country under the pretext of protecting American labor from competition with the pauper labor of Europe. having got these laws so arranged as to keep out the products of the pauper labor of Europe. have sent their agents to Europe and brought the paupers themselves to our country and put them in the mines. in the cokepits. and in the mills to take the places of American workingmen.
