They receive about 40 per cent. less wages than American blowers. or. in other words. they get8 cents per dozen for quart beers. while the American gets 13 cents per dozen. The effect of this competition will be to bring the native workmen down to the level of pauper labor. The hollowglass workmen west of the Alleghany Mountains have not worked since last June. They have been during all this time enjoying the luxury of a lockout.
