But for some reason the Committee on Commerce. which can appropriate $120.000 for the Great Kanawha River. which can makean appropriation for Cheesequakes Creek. which can include the Fox and Arkansas Rivers. and also Saint Anthonys Falls in this bill. when they come to a river of importance. the improvement of which would furnish a check to the greed and exactions of the railroad corporations. they can recommend an appropriation of only $50.000.
