I wish to call the attention of the Senate to the importance and value of this Statistical Abstract. which contains an epitome of all the tables relating to finance. coinage. commerce. immigration. population. railroads. agriculture. &c. It is founded upon the English Statistical Abstract. which is considered of great value. and is published there in very large numbers. I wish to call the attention of the Senate and of the Committee on Printing to this abstract.
