They cannot only pass a law but they can get a law signed. provided it is not a law against Chinese immigration. .and that they cannot get signed. But they can get a tariff signed. and it is their duty to have it signed. �And when we have that tariff law of 1846 opposed to them. to compare between that and any tariff they have ever established. or ever will give their sanction to. then we have an issue to go to the country upon. Then we will have no divisions in our ranks. and we will find it an easy thing to come to an understanding on all collateral questions.
