We are receiving from foreign countries six or seven hundred thousand people every year. Ofnocessity we must have a great expansion of labor. We must find something for these people to do. How shall this end be attained? Vhy. sir. let uscontinue to encourage and expand home manufactures. and to increase our home products. A large proportion of emigrants will noe doubt seek homes in the new States and Territories. and soon add largely to the agricultural productions of the country. Look at the expansion of manufacturos inthis country under our present system. Many people undertake to say that matifacturer. are a privileged class. enjoying great advantages over other portions. ofthe community.
