An election in Utah is simply the recorded will of the Mormon Church as directed by the leaders of that organization. But I have a stronger objection to the admission of Cannon. He is not a citizen. Heis an alien. True. he holds an alleged certificate of naturalization. but there is no record of a court of competent jurisdiction behind it. He was not qualified to become a citizet of the United States at the time this certificte purports to have been issud. Contemporaneous facts and circumstances axe conclusive to my mind that he had not resided in this country over two years prior to its issuance.
