Oregon. stating that the Six Companies are now hnrrying ten thoiisand laborers into Oregan. who are to be employed in constructing the Northern Pacific Railway. I am one of those who believe that either the AngloSaxon race will possess the Pacific slope or the Mongolian race will possess it. By adopting restrictive legislation it is believed we can preserve the great States and Territories of the Pacific slope for our own race. We have a right. under our treaty with China. and according to the laws of nations. to enact the legislation proposed.
