He moved from the national headquarters of the republican partyin this city to the headquarters of that party in Indiana. and from there under instructions to Missouri and Kansas. He even returned to Indianapolis to report his proceedings further west. He testifies that on his return east he stopped over and reported to his friends in Indianapolis that he had met and encouraged emigrating negroes to come to Indiana. thus putting them in entire possession of every detail of this scheme of colored colonization for political purposes. He had advised with the leading men of Kansas. and it %had been agreed that the heavy stream of colored emigration should be diverted. if possible. from that State into Indiana. and all this he faithfully communicated to his political coadjntors at Indianapolis.
