By virtue of its provisions this great contest between free labor and slavery was inaugurated. and hardly had our country quit bleeding over a contest unequaled in the history of the world. hardly had the shout gone up "No more slavery under the StarSpangled Banner." when the hordes of Mongolian pagan slaves. whose numbers are legion. began to take possession of our Pacific coast. flooding our shores with tens of thousands of the most degraded subjects of the Chinese Emperor who are bought and sold in our State like cattle in the market.
