B. Mitchell. of what was done for agriculture by the centennial exposition inaugurated May 10. 1876. 1 am persuaded. sir. that that exhibition did more for the interest of agriculture than almost anything else. or I might say more than anything else that has ever occurred in this country. Why. sir. the exhibits of mineral and agricultural products of the State of Kansas have bad the effect I believe of attracting immense immigration to that great State. And so with the exhibits of other States o this country and the Territories. Out of that national exposition at Philadelphia. visited by more than ten millions of people. has grown a vast desire for the cultivation of flowers and fruits and grains and seeds of various kinds.
