In my view of the matter this whole system of legislation is wrong. and for the want of a better word to express my idea I will say it is hotbed legislation. I am in favor as much as any one of giving homes to the homeless. of giving homes to the poor men. of doing everything within the bounds of reaseon to invite emigration from the overpopulated East. the overcrowded cities. and around the manufacturing establishments. to the West. Let us furnish homes to them. so that the people upon these homes will be attached to our form of government. There is no better way than that to educate our people. to attach them to our Government to make them freeholders.
