The evidence shows he voted for Wigginton. John Peterson voted for Wigginton and was fraudulently naturalized. Why. sir. this man came to the United States from Sweden in 1868 to reside. He applied for naturalization the day before the election in 1876. The court refused him because he had never previously flied a declaration of intention to become a citizen as the law requires. One of his witnesses insisted upon his going to San Francisco the day before election.
