I offer the following re solution and ask for its present consideration: Whereas on the 6th day of July. 1876. t he Senate authorized the appointment of a special committee of thoee Senators to in vestlgate the immigration of Chinese to this country. and whereas on the 17th (lay of July. 1876. the Rouse of Representatires authorized the a peIntmeut of a special committee of three members of the House to discharge similar duties: Be it resolved bl the Senate. (the Hones of fepresezntativeg eoncurring.) That said special committees shall acts a joint special committee of the two Htouses for the pnrposes aforesaid and with the powers conferred by the resolutions appointing them.
