The registration- list is furnished from the county commissioners by the sheriff to the inspectors of election. as it has been corrected hy the board of county commissioners. so that in cosducting the election the inspectors and clerk have before them a registrationlist giving the name of each individual voter. The vote is by ballot. and at this election they voted for Representative in Congress and for State senator. ani also for a member of the State Assembly. A person who was challenged at that election was. under the laws of Florida. obliged to take the oath which is sot forth in section 10 of the election laws of that State. and it is as follows: You do solemnly swear that you are twentyone years of age. that you are a citizen of the Uited Statcs. (or that you have declared your intention to become a citizen of the United States. aecorling to the acts of Congress on the soubject of naturalization .) that you have resided in this State one year and in this couity six niiths next preceding this election. that you have not voted at this election. anlt that you are not disqualified to voto by the judgment of any eonct. That is the oath that a person who is challenged is compelled to take. whether his name be on the regstrationlist or not. But if his name is not found on the registratiolist then he also has the right to vote by taking the oath which is prescribed in section 9 of that law. which is as follows: That if any person whose name may be emsed shall. on offering to vote at any election. declare on oath that his name has been improperly struc off from the list of registered voters. and shall take the oath required to be taken by persons whoso right to vote shall be challenged.
