If there be a population of 120.000 to 130.000 now. you can very well see that the AngloAmerican population greatly prepoiderates over the Mexican population at this day. and of that fact there can be no doubt. In addition to this. a large number of these Mexicans are intelligent. educated men. and well adapted to our system of government. Again. as they are part and parcel of ourselves. it is nothing but wise policy to give them all the facilities as soon as possible by which they will be assimilated to the population of this portion of the country by encouraging emigration as rapidly as possible. It is better for us as well as better for them. My own opinion is that Now Mexico is destined in a very few years to be a large and a populous State.
