Now. it will be said that nobody would interfere in a case of that kind. that a thing of that kind would be overlooked. There are always enoughof busybodies and intermeddlers in every country ready and willing to make complaint against any man who is found even technically. or innocently it may be. violating the law. That is the exact state of the case with reference to the State which I have the honor in part to represent here. As I say. you cannot get around this reservation. The road is there. it is traveled. it is lined today with emigrant teams going to that country. You cannot cross itin a day. You cannot cross it in two days.
